Home Safe and Sound!

It was a long journey home, but we have arrived safely. Two well taken care of fat cats greeted us with their stories. Buddy is still talking....and Terry continues to give him more treats to quiet him. Buddy definitely has Terry's number!

We hope our little blog was interesting and informative to those that followed along. Big thanks to Bill and Kevin for watching over the house and kitties!

We hope to chat with each of you soon as we settle back in.

Cheers! But not with Changs, it is nice to be back in the land of more options. :)

Then She Takes Off her Clothes

Video #2. Now she's telling him
what he missing and what a jerk he is.

Old Hooker directing traffic

This lady was starting to try to make her point of just how important she was. Video #1.

Street Food and Sights of Bangkok

These are a few pic's from my last meal in Bangkok. The big Chang and Red Curry with chicken and side of rice was 130 baht ($3.00). Napkins come in the form of toilet paper and only on request. New friends include the old hooker who was having a fight with her homeless, drunk boyfriend and his toothless "professor" friend and the local kitties. More video on the hooker in a bit.

Quick Ban's Diving Review

So we got to Ko Tao, supposedly the number one spot to get Scuba Diving Certifications in the world. The largest operator is Ban's Diving. We went to the beach headquarters' bar to see the action. What struck us was the shear number of people they had on their boat with at least 30 and maybe more. More than we ever put on Never, which is sizably larger. And....they charged too much for beer at the bar.

Night fall

When the lights go down in the city.  Listening to  wild beach party from our balcony.

New island

We have, arrived at our new digs on Lomprayah.   Very nice room with great pool waiting for me.

Dive

We did our second dive off this point yesterday.  It had a nice coral reef, lots of fish and many fun things to see.  We didn't go down much more than 11 meters ( about 35 feet or so) but the water was clear and really warm.  Nice dive.

Shower

This is the view from our outdoor rain shower.  If privacy is a concern a slider can be closed and blind lowered.  The crazy birds might drop in for a shower as well.

Dipping pool

Filling our dipping pool for a later cooling off dip.

Breakfast

Today's breakfast was high in this boat-house.  The tables are interest , the breakfast much the same all over these islands.  The view was very nice.

New day

A new day & a new beach.  This is a the Green Papaya resort.  After a bit of refreshment we will be doing some snorkeling.

Ko Samui Fair House Pool Villa

Wow! What a delightful improvement over Ko Phi Phi. No screaming kids next door, no death defying stairs or cliffs to the room, nice music selection in public areas (Viking Natures Resort on Phi Phi only played Credence Clearwater Revival), pretty property overall. I higher recommend this place for at least a couple of nights.

Jungle home

Leaving behind our jungle home in Phi Phi and headed for Krabi bound ferry.

Orchid Garden

This morning we visited the Orchid Garden and Butterfly Garden. Here are pictures of some of the beautiful orchids. There are 11,000 species of Orchids in Thailand.

Apologies for no butterfly pictures... They did not stay still enough to get photos.

Viking Natures Resort

We had an awful bungalow last night which was supposed to have an awesome view of the sea and even hot water. Not so. They gave us an upgrade today for the next three nights. But this place totally sucks so we are moving on in the morning to Ko Samui for a couple of nights. It will be a long journey of ferry- bus -ferry but the end result will hopefully be our reward: a villa with a private pool. Not all is paradise in Thailand.

These pictures are of the new bungalow that is perched on a boulder 150 feet above the sea. The view is better but the trek is dangerous.

Mosquitoes

Our first night sleeping behind a mosquito net was a trip.  It was interesting trying to get out in the middle of the night for a bathroom run.  The room has no A.C. just a fan that went on and off with the power fluctuations.

Hmm?

The owner of this place must have been a pyramid builder in a past life.  The Phi-Phi experience continues.
